Garden of enchantment

Garden of Enchantment is a collaboration between me and fashion photographer Saga Sigurðardóttir. We combined our forces, my styling and illustrations and her photography to create a magical world where our own tales inspired by greek mythology and russian fairy tales are combined in an icelandic winter wonder land. We began preparing the exhibition last year but the images and the video was shot in January in Iceland. The images shot by Saga are printed on wood, paper and fabric and then illustrated by me.

The exhibition was in KlingogBang gallery in March.

Hvammur.

I´m so looking forward to the summer.

I´ll be staying in Seyðisfjörður, which is a town in the east of Iceland.

We have a little cottage there called Hvammur.

Seyðisfjörður´s population is about 700 people in winter, but when spring comes around the number goes up to 1000. A lot of them beeing artists that live there during the summer time

There are two great artist residencies there which I highly recommend to anybody.

Dorothy Iannone

One of my favorite artists at the moment is Dorothy Iannone, The Lioness.

She is best known for her egyptian inspired "lovemaking self portraits" where she portraits herself with her lover Dieter Roth.

Dorothy travelled to Iceland with her former husband and met Dieter at the harbor. She immidietly fell in love and left her husband a short while later to return to Iceland and stay with Dieter.

She now lives and workes in Berlin.

I really like this picture with my stuff from the RFF mag.
